Air system:
1. Air intake filter
Heavy duty, dry type air inlet filter.
Premium filtration efficiency: 99.9% for particles above 3 micron
2. Air intake valve
Aluminum check valve that closes the inlet when the compressor stops
3. Compression element
State of the art compression element using the high efficiency rotor profiles
4. Non return valve
Cast iron check valve to prevent back flow into the compression element
5. Air/oil separator vessel
Cast iron vessel aerodynamically optimized to maximize the pre-separation. Inside the vessel is an ultra fine oil separator filter to limit the oil consumption and increase the running time.
6. Minimum pressure valve
Cast iron check valve that opens at 4 barg. It prevents blow back into the oil vessel and maintains oil pressure for reliable operation.
7. Aftercooler
Aluminum block type air aftercooler for the air-cooled models or alternatively plate type heat exchanger for the water-cooled models to cool the compressed air and condensate discharge.
8. Air to air heat exchanger
Aluminum block type heat exchanger that cools the compressed air to near freezing point using the refrigerant of the dryer.
9. Water separator (integrated in the aftercooler)
The water separator is integrated in the aftercooler, assures immediate removal of 100% of the condensate to electronic no loss drains.
10. DD/PD air/oil separator filters (optionally)
Extra air/oil filters can be provided inside the compressor enclosure to protect oil sensitive applications from contamination. These filters comply with ISO8573-1. They clean the air conform to class 1 quality, i.e. a maximum of 0.01 mg/m³ oil in the compressed air.
Lubrication system:
11. Lube oil
Atlas Copco’s lube oils are tested for extreme conditions and explicitly qualified for high performance and long lifetime expectations.
12. Oil cooler
Aluminum block type air - oil cooler for the air-cooled models or alternatively plate type heat exchanger for the water-cooled models. The coolers remove the heat generated in the oil during the compression and to optimize the element temperature for efficient operation.
13. Thermostatic bypass valve
A cast iron valve integrated in the oil filter housing to assure that the compressor reaches its optimal temperature immediately after start-up.
14. Oil filter
A metal free oil filter is built into the oil vessel housing. The oil filter ensures an extremely high filtration efficiency (12 micron) to protect the lubrication quality and health of the rotating components.
15. Oil stop valve
The oil stop valve is of cast iron and is integrated with the compression element check valve. It protects the compression element from oil flood when the compressor is stopped.
Air dryer system
16. Refrigerant compressor
The refrigerant compressor is a hermetic piston type compressor that increases the refrigerant pressure close to its condensing temperature, so that it will start to condense and lose heat by cooling it with ambient air (in the condenser).
17. Condenser
The condenser is made of aluminum finned copper tubes and powered by its own cooling fan. The condenser removes the heat from the refrigerant and discharges this heat into atmosphere. As such it condenses the refrigerant.
18. Liquid refrigerant dryer filter
This filter removes moisture and particles from the refrigerant for reliable dryer operation.
19. Thermostatic expansion valve
This valve expands the refrigerant liquid to evaporation pressure before it enters the air to air heat exchanger (20) to cool down the compressed air.
20. Evaporator
The evaporator is the final part of the air to air heat exchanger (8) in which the compressed air is cooled near to freezing temperature by the cold refrigerant. The refrigerant evaporates during this process.
